One of my key services, as a Virtual Assistant, is database creation and management.  My experience is that a spreadsheet was created many years ago and been updated by lots of different people with no control around the data entered.  This means you have a wealth of potentially valuable information that can be used to benefit my client but it can’t be used because there is no consistency to it.  

I approached PC Tamers for advice on whether there were any Excel functions or shortcuts that would speed up the process.  Steve showed me some simple functions such as “Convert text to columns" and “Remove duplicates" and creating Pivot Tables. These allow me to break a spreadsheet down in a fraction of the time and concentrate on the quality of the data.  This means my clients are paying for my expertise not the repetition of copy and paste from cell to cell."
